Local Attractions

Our hotel is situated in the beautiful Berkshire countryside perfect for exploring on foot or by bike, there are lots of wonderful nearby walks including along the tranquil Kennet and Avon canal (some of our rooms are dog friendly too! If you wish to bring your four-legged friend do give us a call to check availability of dog friendly rooms, there is a charge of £20 per night for up to two dogs to stay in a room).

The pub lies amid some great countryside, perfect for exploring on foot or by bike. But a little further afield, there are other super attractions to enjoy including Highclere Castle - the location of Downton Abbey. We are also 20 minutes from the National Trust Vyne and Basildon park properties.

Newbury race course and Reading football club provide excitement for sports fans, while keen shoppers can head for the town centres of Reading, Bath, Bristol or Newbury.
